When serial renovators Colin and Pamela Leech were first shown a beautiful spot in Wales, they knew that this would be the perfect place to build their home for life.

The site had been previously worked on ten years prior and the foundations had already been laid. The land itself also came with a detailed and precise plan that had been given permission, although alterations were needed.

The couple enlisted the help of Welsh Oak Frame to make the desired changes to the plans and to help develop the perfect living environment.

The couple moved into a caravan nearby, before the project began, which enabled them to build a good relationship with the local trades and their new neighbours.

“When we moved here we didn’t know anyone at all, but we decided to use local contractors and Welsh Oak Frame put us in touch with a project manager who managed the project from start to finish”.

The entire project took just eight months from start to completion and the only delays came from their utility services. When the oak frame arrived on site, it took just three weeks to erect.

A few months after completion the couple turned to Welsh Oak Frame again, this time to create an addition to the downstairs of the oak barn due to a change in family circumstances.

Pamela comments: “That’s the beauty of this structural system – you can alter it fairly easily. Welsh Oak Frame managed to create the extension within just six weeks.”

Now that the oak barn is fully complete the couple are happily enjoying the fruits of their labour and “wouldn’t change a thing.”
